Oleksandr Ilkov, Partner at Hillmont Partners, appointed Coordinator of newly-created GR Committee under the Ukrainian Bar Association
Hillmont Partners welcomes and supports the establishment of the GR Committee under the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA). The news was announced at the meeting of the Board of the UBA on September 14, 2021. Oleksandr Ilkov, a Partner of Hillmont Partners and a well-known expert in the field of government relations and public affairs, regulatory and risk management, has been appointed Coordinator of the GR Committee.
Oleksandr Ilkov has been awarded the title of “Honoured Lawyer of Ukraine”, awarded with the status “Lawyer of the Year 2022” in the regulatory practice by The Legal 500 EMEA and Best Lawyers. Oleksandr was a member of the UBA in 2013-2019 and has been supporting the activities and initiatives of the UBA for many years.
The GR Committee has the ambitious goal of building and developing an intellectual and proactive community of specialists in Government Relations and Public Affairs, whose professional communication and cooperation is based on the key principles of professional ethics and international, high-quality standards for GR services as a whole. The work of the Committee will provide for interactivity and dialogue, the release of practical information products, and access to modern professional knowledge.
Oleksandr Ilkov commented on the initiative to establish the GR-Committee under the UBA: “In recent years, the Government Relations issue has gained incredible popularity among market participants, providing legal and advocacy services, who actively promote their own products in lawmaking, regulatory innovation, lobbying. Within the framework of this specialized committee of the UBA, we intend to work actively on the culture of provision and consumption of the GR services and lobbying, which, first and foremost, is based on the willingness and ability of GR consultants to combine the interests of business, society and the state in their services. We issue an invitation to cooperation, and are open to counter ideas and suggestions!“
